"When I travel back in time, I want to be able to select from a range of different places and time periods, so I can learn more about history." I absolutely loved the concept and unique idea behind it. I had a really great time trying to create the journey I want the users to go through while experiencing it. I decided that, I want it to be straight forward yet tying into the off-beat concept by creating different experiences, while selecting place and time period etc. I started with creating a rough draft of what I wanted the app to look like and spending more than necessary time selecting the color scheme. The color scheme had to look futuristic because even though the app is meant to travel to the past, the concept of time travel is revolutionary and modern. I also wanted the colors to attract kids, the app is meant to not come out as a history book but as a way experience history in an understandable and exceptional method. Next I wanted the users to be able to move around the Globe, selecting exactly which city or country in history they were interested in knowing about. Once the place is decided, the user gets a chance to scroll through different decades, once the user enters the time period, they are given the option to switch to 'VR' mode.

Hi Saurabh, Really appreciate your feedback. I agree with what you say and hope to work on it in the future.
Hey Nida, Thank you for the remark, The screen with the globe does have a search bar, the globe is just meant to create an experience. Looking at it again, I do realize that the color scheme and the font size is not good and I hope to work on it in the future. Thank you once again.
Hey Rey! The Search bar is meant to find the location quickly, the globe is just meant to create an experience. Yes, I agree the font size is unnecessary covering a lot of space. I will pay more attention to the color scheme next time, Thank you.
Hey Vatsal Shah, Really appreciate the feedback. I do agree with your points. Thank you for taking time out and helping me improve. Will defiantly take all of it into consideration when I make my next design.
Hi Aakriti, I would like to give you feedback on your design so that you can work on it next time. - First and foremost problem is color scheme. Do you think user would like to see this color scheme? Consider using subtle colors in your palette next time. Refer behance or dribbble for the same. -After colors comes typography, Fonts with borders are rarely used and generally used for hero sections it looks outdated if used randomly. In the second screen I am not even able to decipher what is written there. -Elements like cards, CTAs, Images, Vectors, Icons should be consistent. Read books or watch videos to learn UI. -In the third screen I don't know how you will show the oval scrolling. It could be better if you made it round or horizontal/vertical scroller. -There were multiple things happening in 1590 what if user wants to read about 1593? -Mughal era was till 1726, so will you show the same vector till 1730? You can make user centric design by putting cards of what events took place in mughal era in each year or month. -Drop down where place is shown India is not feasible as there are 195 countries in world. Also if someone wants to search about states in India what is the option as India has diversified history. -What does the last screen mean? Is it even necessary? I don't think so.
Good try, Need more attention to accessibility and color rules Also font size and typography choices, and consistency I like earth globe, but it takes long time to find somewhere we want
Hey Akriti, your color scheme seems really off. The contrast between pink and blue seems really off. Instead of a globe to choose the location you can have search/ drop down selection for easier navigation. Also your font sizes are not proper. The button font seems really big in comparison of the button.
Hi, Nice visualization of the problem statement, image addition, country selection and inclusion of VR The typography and scaling of elements can be better. Considering it is a phone app, it is necessary to make sure the elements that you design are individually clickable. A finger/thumb touch should not ambiguously fall on multiple elements. In terms of color, like the idea behind modern color because time travel is modern, you could be using the same principle for your components / style as well. Instead of simple lower opacity gradients, you could explore glassmorphic UI with neon pink lineart which would give your app a more modern look!
Hi Gnaneshwar, Thank you so much for the feedback, really appreciate it. Ye, will defiantly try to improve and consider all of the points you mentioned before for upcoming projects.
Thank you Astra
Hey, very good approach to the challenge, could improve a bit on font sizes in the second screen they are very small i would suggest to have at least 10px and though the time slider looks good i feel having a simpler date picker would enable user to set time easily and precisely kudos to your idea of having experience VR this is something unique
Thank you Kyla, means a lot
Thank you Amit
The color scheme looks really good
Wow! The design looks good
