Your approach is doing so much justice to the challenge that it feels amazing. The concept is mirroring experience of "Cake Maker" games that we used to play as kids, which draws a fun and amusing UX. Brilliant!! Suggestion : You can work a little on padding and breathing space between the designs. Great work once again

Great work and so glad to see the pizza visual when items are added to the pizza! This is one that shows the customizable options and it's great! My only recommendation is the buttons for options are quite large and would be great for accessibility but a bit much for a user wanting quick options.

Number of slices is a great edition. I would definitely use this feature when I order pizza with my friends.

Thanx @Lavanya Arya This is how I created animation 👇 1) I sketched the rough idea. 2) Designed Interface 3) Masked pizza & toppings into separate layers. 4) Arranged the layers accordingly into the placeholder for Pizza 5) Prototyped the elements with Smart Animate. 7) Screenrecorded the prototype. 8) Added a few motion graphics into after effects. 9) exported as GIF. 10)compressed the GIF. 11)Uploaded here

Good editing. That was a quick-to-understand prototype for buying pizza with information on the toppings, but what I believe is that the list of pizzas was straightforward and was modelled like the current Dominos App page. Additionally, I believe that the colour theory was not followed when adding items to the basket because of the somewhat confusing loading screen. Final thought: make the next video a little slower to make it easier to follow.

Hi Alok...First of all nice work but a suggestion is that from next time onwards try to give some breathing space between the cards and texts. Also just suggesting that the pizza icon used when "processing the order" could be some other icon or illustration would be better.

Wow, nice design and I like how you show the process. Only thing is it came out blurry when watching. I've been tinkering with animation file sizes so maybe a gif? Or translating it to a smaller video high resolution than changing to gif I've found helpful. Great work!

hey @sush yes! there is a file size limit when it comes to uploading the GIF. the original file was around 50MB, I had to make it to 7MB so that it accepts my file. That's the reason it looks so low in quality

Hi Fuwad, first of all, visually it is a very appealing app. Draws a very quick attention towards the entire concept of customizing a pizza. Sharing my feedback and hoping it would help you #UI: The color scheme chosen is wonderful. The cards are neat and aligned. My instincts are just looking forward towards a little more refined text hierarchy,. #UX: The approach of step by step selection of pizza seems very user friendly, But it would have been greater if " select size" option had pricing against each sizes plus further options for selecting base types as well. Also, the home page should have exerted some branding. That was just my pov, you are doing great work, keep it up :)

Really nice and effective design. It would be really great to see how many steps are left in completing an order i.e. some sort of progress bar. And also the final price calculation can be added on top or bottom. Great work! Simplicity at it's best😁

Nice design with a very easy to understand ui and working, the flow to make the our personalized pizza in this design is a very interesting and appealing work, the chosen colors are a great match for this design and adding the images for reference in almost every possible area without flooding the screen was a great and impressive work. good luck with this one.

Hi there... The overall design is nice. The only thing to say is that the contents feels somewhat a little congested to me. Specifically saying, it would be better if you had given some padding to the images used in then padding section and the gap between size and base could e increased by a little bit.

I wanted to show atleast 5 toppings at once so the user wont have to go to and fro and as it has images user can identify toppings easily. 2. There are chances of user getting indecisive after seeing lots of options and search bar in cart which can result in user not ordering anything and leaving the app. 3. I agree to your point. It should have been "menu" or "chef special" 4. You can see shadows on various things that are important so I dont agree about inconsistency in design but yes I could definitely increase size to 15%.

Hi @kajalkirpekar Firstly thank you for your valuable feedback! 1) According to design theory we should define primary and secondary buttons that is why I have used different colors for buttons. It is helpful for user to focus on what's important first. 2) If you choose to customize pizza then you will have to choose everything from the scratch (mexican pizza means pizza with the base of mexican gravy). Basically the arrows near Mexican pizza is for the gravy. If you are vegetarian then you will find only veg toppings when you click on veg so that a user won't select topping mistakenly that he would not prefer to eat if s/he is vegetarian or vegan. 3) Yes, I agree with you about search bar size.

Hello, @Vatsal, the UI is clean and looks easy for a user to use. I like the colour palette, typography used, and the clear customization given. However there are some issues I find that could've been better ; 1) Your CTA colour is black, however, you've used orange as an 'add to cart' icon everywhere. This, I think, restricts the user to enable recognition through colour for your design. 2) Talking about the customization screen, if I have already selected a pizza to customize, why are there 'non-veg', 'vegan' and next options beside the pizza name? What will happen if I press right? What will happen if I click on non-veg? Will I get the same pizza but with non-veg options? Or will I get a menu of Non-veg Pizzas? Or will I get a random non-veg pizza and keep pressing right till I find the one I like? I feel these steps are confusing for the user and unnecessary, since you've already got veg and non-veg filters on the home screen. 3)The search bar is too narrow, and the space in Pizza info card in the cart is poorly managed, and instead of 'Add More' you could've enabled the option of "Similar Pizza's' or 'Pizza's that match your taste' for the user for a more tailored experience. Nice Design overall, it's clean and visually appealing.

Hi @Vatsal I really like the work the color palette is good and ui is nice i found some can be done better 1. In customization page the Add ons can be highlighted much better it is too small to identify , the names are also not readable compared to other 2.In cart add more option can be better its like search screen ,there u can see refrence like zomato and other apps 3. Ready to eat i don't think its a correct term as we are familiar with order now, people are familiar with it ,its quit awkward,you can use a better term ,as UX writing are important nowadays 4 Compared to other things the inconsistency in design in the task bar the size is too small and added shadows to the button which makes it stand out Overall really nice work , these are my opinion what i have understood and what i felt

@Sachin My thought behind the Next button was that it's a secondary button, it should be distinct from the primary buttons even though it is on a different page. Filling it with green colour would only lay more emphasis on it rather than the size, crust or other attributes that the user needs to select.

Hello Nayan, you done a great job to solve this problem. I do have few suggestions for you: - What if I want double the quantity of a topping. So a quantity of feature for toppings would be really good to have. -Font hierarchy needs a bit work. For instance 'Veg' and 'Non veg' in the 1st screen looks way to big. - Improve the color contrast and choice of color in your design. Rest all looks great. Goodluck to you.

I do have few suggestions for you to work on -Is all the topping of same rate or it is different. You should mention the rate of the toppings in the design - You have forget to ask for type of crust which is a common thing in a pizza app -There is alignment issue of the description of Margherita. Why is the text not stretched till the other edge of the screen. The empty space on the right hand side looks a bit weird Rest all is great. Happy learning!

Hey Sowmya, Your color combination is really on point, I have few suggestion: - Your design looks really crowded and that might make it confusing for the user. Adjust your spacing to make it clean and easily understandable. - The vertical headings is not a good practice. It is difficult to read and will lead to bad user experience. Rest all looks great. I really like your design. It's laid out nicely and presented well. I especially like how the price and call to action buttons are emphasized. Red can be an intense color to work with but it works nicely in the design. My only critique is I would like to see the full pizza and not have it cut off when customizing. Overall great design!

Hey Nimisha, I love your approach here, the layout is quite different from what we expect, so that does add an element of fun. Also, I like to idea of adding to 'box'. I would like to mention thou, that we need to be careful while moving away from the norm. As people expect things to be a certain way. For example, when we're looking at a menu, we're habitual of seeing things all in one place, which helps because it's easier to scan and find the option you like. So, if you wanna stick with this layout, I would suggest adding an option to switch to a grid layout (with vertical scroll). Also, on the customization screen, you've kept the toppings on the left. Now for a left-hander, that's the perfect place for it to be, because it's easily accessible. But for the rest 90% of the population (the right-handers) it would be very uncomfortable to reach their thumb or finger all the way to the left side. Now if you wish to keep in mind the left-handers, here too it'd be a good idea to provide an option to switch while keeping the options on the right by default (because that's the majority of people). Lastly, I'd like to point out that you used the images of toppings as they're seen by someone buying them raw. But the person seeing these needs to make a decision based on what it looks like on the pizza itself. So... I guess you know what you need to do. I hope that helps. In the first slide, - the space between items is too much than required. - you can use "Best Sellers" instead of "People's Favourite" as nobody cares what people do. I think there's a font size issue as well, that's why there's more white space than required. In the Fourth slide, - you can highlight the amount (top-right corner) by giving it a base and increasing the font-weight. - font-weights are really helpful in hierarchy. - toppings section also seems unattractive, may be because of font-weight. - the text on the toppings is also of small size that is barely readable and mixing with the white background.

You could've mention the price there as well. - A stepwise indication of customization would've really been helpful. - Your button placement is not in the ideal touch area, it is very much towards the edge and may lead to wrong clicks - The total amount of pizza is not much highlighted. the customisation giving me option to try pizzas with different toppings but not giving me option to add multiple toppings in a single pizza. the '+' & '-' icons are placed in opposite direction. the plus should be on the upper side. because we human usually see things from lower to higher side. Rest is good, good colour selection good UI good Spacing / padding

Hi, your concept was very good with some new feature ! - but the button colour seems a little bit dull. - need content looks congested. - the text below "+" icon (top right corner) is invisible - the UI could be more modern. - need to increase spacing between categories in the 2nd slide.

Hey Kajal, your design does look pleasing to the eye. Here are a few points that you can improve upon. 1. At first I wondered what the green dot along with the name of the pizza meant. But upon closer view, I see that you've used it to represent veg (or vegan, I can't tell which). I believe it'd be best to use the symbols. Because the user doesn't know what the dots mean, they're used to seeing the symbol. If you still wanna define your own symbols. I suggest adding them along with the categories on the home screen. And use something more descriptive than just colored dots (keeping in mind the color-blind audience) 2. In the modal where they're adding toppings, I suggest adding the names of the toppings, because for one it's much quicker to make decisions with text coupled with image, (text alone is also fine, but image alone can increase the decision-making time. Not everyone knows their toppings by picture. Also, you've used raw images of toppings as they're seen by someone buying them raw. But the person seeing these needs to make a decision based on what it looks like on the pizza itself. So... select images accordingly. 3. The tiny light orange buttons that you've used on the pizza display page are, well... tiny. On a mobile device, the ideal touch target size is 48 px. Meaning that every element that needs to be touched at should have an area of 48 px for touch (otherwise, our fingers might accidentally tap on something else). You can achieve that by adding sufficient padding around those buttons (i.e. back, arrows in toppings, and + - in quantity) 4. Lastly, I'd like to point out (I just noticed it) that the font that you used doesn't have a common baseline for all numbers. That might've worked when the digits are jammed between a paragraph with a bunch of other alphabets, but when displayed separately, they look crooked (Imagine looking at ₹ 555 in this font). Also, it's easier to read with them on the same baseline. I hope these points help.

Beautiful except the plus minus icon position. - need to be on left + need to be on right side as per human psychology and other apps.

I simply believe that black and white background are considerably more prevalent than any other color. white color does emphasize clarity, that much is true. yet I think it happens a lot. I occasionally attempt to create a color from my primary color to at the very least offer that whiteness situation as a typical background. Though I never paid much attention to that one,  I appreciate much You are welcome to offer me any feedback or ideas. This could be misleading. Sachin actually that add toppings section is a varity of options that we usually use on pizza like Veg,Non veg,Cheese,Sauce etc and after selecting one of them a pop up comes where you can choose different items that belongs from the same group.

As I can see there are 2 ways to display list of toppings . Why it's like that ?

It is actually really interesting to see the contrast of the app.Few suggestions: The order now and Total price buttons can be improved.The order now section doesn't have much clarity. while choosing 2 types of pizza toppings we should able to see the pricing calculation more clearly. What if I don't want the basic toppings (which comes with the base model of pizza) ? or if i want to add toppings on a fresh base. Why the user is forced to select UP TO only 2 types of toppings ?

Hello Ankit, First, your design is beautiful. You have a great job with the UI. The only thing I would fix is the square around each of the dots that explain what type of pizza it is (Veg Pizza for example). Looking at the experience though I think you could make some slight improvements. The first thing I see is the size of the pizza is in a location that's unexpected. I would expect to pick the size above the toppings. I would also add more information to the sizes such as how many inches they are. The second thing is that in the first image it looks like the Spiced Double Chicken already has broccoli, so adding it makes me a bit confused. Hopefully that helps!

Hello, I really likes the color theme. I do have few suggestions for you - The choice of your icon is misleading, for 'add to cart' button you have given pizza box icons. - The side options for toppings is not in the ideal touch are, keeping it an edge might create problem to click it. - The options are not organized in a proper way. The size and toppings are all in a single screen with improper placement. Maybe a step wise approach would have been better. Rest all looks fine. Goodluck!

the grey coloured thin crust is looking like cement. you need to work on font size and spacing between elements. (can be seen in the 3rd screen below pizza & in the 4th screen between QTY & PRICE) you can remove the text QTY and PRICE as the users are used to it while ordering.

Hello Harsita. The design is very clean and has what is required. Type, color choice, illustrations are great. Suggestion: - Elements in screen 3 and 4 appear crowded, that could lead to cognitive overloading in users. Try to space out the elements, or break the flow into small steps. - shadows are a bit darker - what are those clock and location icon for (top left corner) first screen ? - text weight could be increased (2nd & 3rd slide) - need to choose some foodie colours. - price alignment isn't okay , should be on right - why the top icons are omitted in the 4th screen ?

Heya, I really like the clean and fresh look of your design. I'd like to mention a few points here. As I see on the second screen, the toppings are added as a drop down, but people have always been given the option to choose multiple toppings (and they've come to expect it). So I suggest having a select multiple option. Other than that, according to the problem statement, the main goal here is that the user can see what they're getting WHEN they're selecting the toppings, and while the View pizza option is nice, it doesn't provide immediate live feedback (preview). So I suggest, showing a bigger image of the pizza on second screen and showing the changing toppings there as well (if you aren't already) I hope these points help..

It's like a game ! because there's NO - Price indication - CTA to order - Product name(Atleast "Custom Pizza") - Adding / Removal of Toppings it's just like pizza customisation / decoration game. The text on the toppings circle is barely visible because of the image contrast. In this case you can shift the heading below the circle so that the image and text would be clearly visible. Your concept was nice but you missed some important stuff.

Manisha, I will give you some feedback :) The first thing I notice is that you have provided the entire onboarding flow, if I was you I would spend more time focusing on the challenge problem and providing 3-5 screens that show the solution. You want people to see how you solved the challenge and not get lost in your design. Looking at the UI I don't think the green shadow at the bottom of the screen should be there. It's kind of random and distracting. With the nice pattern already in the background I would just leave it simple. I would add the size of the pizzas to the bottom left screen. Such as Small (8"), Medium (12"), etc. One little thing I would do on the map screen is make the map the entire screen with the navigation on the bottom. It isn't a standard pattern to have a map with padding around it like that. Hopefully tis helps, good luck! :)

@jayashree, i think colour is okay as this one is used by dominoes also. @krisna, the UI elements are very neat & clean, I don't know why you placed 3 decimal positions in prices, that looks somewhat weird. Nutrition values are for those who are health conscious, foodies aren't one of them. What does (575) indicates ? Currency unit is "Rs." for Indian Rupees

Hi Daisie, The design looks really nice. The way you presented your design is also very minimal and good. So let's go through each pages. For the first page, which is "Get started" page, the illustration looks very apt for the UI & the color is nice. From the second one onwards i think the use of white or an off-white will be more better than the shade of grey you used now as the background image. Overall the design is good, but could be improved

Hi Jatin, your UI is cool i went through the link you provided i think there are some improvement you can do - the prototype forced me to add each and every topping to proceed to the next step even if I don't want those toppings. - I can't see any option to remove any topping if I added one by mistake. - the position of the toppings gives incomplete feel if I add only 1 topping. - It would be better if the animation / vector could be realistic. - There must be the price indicator which can give an idea to the user if he has crossed his budget .

it's missing the main feature of customising the pizza and checking the preview.

Hi Aditya, The first suggestion I have would be to make the pizza image change when things are added or selected. Right now I don't think it works for the challenge. As a usability suggestion, I would consider making the page scroll and listing your ingredients vertically. Scrolling through a lot of options horizontally typically isn't a good experience and takes a lot longer than scrolling vertically. Visually, I would add a bit more space between sections and possibly replace the text that says "popular" with some type of badge that makes it stand out more. I really love the way you have laid out the page so the pizza is the focus. I think you're super close to a fantastic design. Good luck!

Hey Gayatri, beautiful design indeed. The color choices kinda remind me of New Year somehow. Anyways, I'd like to mention a few points here. Firstly, it'd be a good idea to show the toppings in a linear fashion in 1 column instead of 2. Here's why... When a person is presented with a form, the first thing they do is figure out how long it would take to fill it. And the longer that time, the more likely they are to not do it at all. In your design, the toppings are too many in number and its layout is such that they are seen all at once (that too in 2 columns, their eyes are all over the place). In some cases, you could limit those options. But if that's not the case, another way that you can fix this is by presenting that in a linear fashion. Just 1 column, multiple rows, and lots of negative space between them, so that the user is not overwhelmed by the sheer number of them. Additionally, you can group the toppings based on category. Secondly, you should add an option to "Add to Cart", instead of "Order Now". Here's why... There are some behaviors that have become perceived behaviors by now. Like when you're ordering food, you're likely looking for some options and adding multiple options. So, they'd want to add to the cart first and then order at once. Consider the user's journey, the path they would want to follow to achieve a goal through your app. Think of it like a story going in your head. Lastly, I'd talk about stacking. The way you've stacked the info in the cards. Consider grouping information together, based on how we look for information. For example, when I look at the image of the pizza, I'd wanna know its name (maybe even ingredients), then I'd wanna see the price, and immediately after that, I'd wanna add it to the cart (or move on). So stacking your card in that way would help. Also, we're habitual of reading things left-to-right. Thus it'd be much more easily readable if the text alignment is left instead of center. You did a great job with the app. I hope these tiny little improvements help.

Hi Gayatri, I appreciate your efforts put into the design. I want to add some points here : 1) first of all, this maroon kind colour clearly indicates non-veg food. you can use some other foodie colour as primary. 2) In the first screen, you can add the 3rd pizza with 10-20% part visible so that the user can get an idea that this portion is horizontally scrollable. or you can "View All" in front of the heading (right side). 3) I didn't get what those arrows are for, on both sides of pizza. Usually we use them to move to next photo in the gallery, but in the product selection it's not useful as the user will directly go back and select the product instead of moving forward / backward in sequential manner. (if you've used them for UNDO & REDO, then this is not the right symbol) 4) the '+' & '-' signs are used in reverse manner for increasing & decreasing the quantity. The minus should be left and Plus should be on right because human mind works that way.....lower to higher. 5) The toppings which are not selected are too light, you can increase their opacity because they are also important as if the user can't see them, he/she wouldn't add them in their order.

Hi, the UI and UX looks great and simply solved the problem defined. the bottom menu bar can be a bit bigger so that it can be easily clickable.

At first glance, I really thought it's a shopping app for holi colours. Don't be demotivated , you need to work a lot on this one : - background should always be clean so that user can focus on the design elements you've placed. - instead of writing over the image, you can write below so that the image and text would be clearly visible & readable. (topping section) - the white box you've used in first slide on top, need some more margin from the edge or simple increase the width to full. - instead of writing servings below Small medium and Large, you can add size of the pizza in inches. - the icon you've used for small medium and large should give a clear understanding without even looking at the description below. - colour contrast is really important to make the elements easily readable as you've used black icon on magenta coloured button.

Hello Aravind, A few suggestions I have are to make the size slider a dropdown instead of a line just so users aren't confused about what's selected. The way you have designed the toppings section with different size circles will put a lot more mental load on the user trying to process it. Stick to a grid and align things neatly so the users can focus on the content and not the design. Lastly, I will just say that your final screen should show the things you have added, such as mushrooms. This would complete the challenge. Right now it just looks like the default House Pizza. Some points for improvements : - Need to work on the fonts, margin & padding. - the colour is slightly dull. - the cart option shouldn't be this much prominent that every time user scroll,, he/she accidentally go to cart. It will minimise the time spent on the app and impact revenue. - (3rd & 4th screen) after adding the toppings, it should show the added toppings in the form of text also.' - What if I want to remove any topping - it should show real-time calculated price while adding toppings

Great effort, I love the web version. The design is cool but it is very visible. I suggest keeping it minimal and subtle so the purpose is solved.

if you're providing the 3D view in desktop version then it should also be included in the mobile version with an additional feature of AR if you want to give AR as well. price indicator is missing.

Here are few suggestions for you - There is no information regarding the size of pizza which is most important thing for the user - Also you have not mentioned the price of the pizza anywhere in the screen. Price is highly important thing while ordering - There are many padding and spacing issue that you can work on.

I liked the nutrition information per serving but a food addict doesn't care about that. coming to the design 1) In the first screen, the display style of big image looks cool but it's time consuming and frustrating for user to scroll to his/her favourite item. 2) In the second screen, - The image opacity and font colour need a contrast on top portion to be visible. - Need to adjust padding in the toppings. - cooking time has very less opacity.. not clearly visible. - "Add missing ingredients" is also not visible, need to work on contrast. and the word "missing" give the user a misconception that he's not getting the exact ingredients that should be in the pizza. you can use "Try these special toppings" instead. 3) In the third slide also you gave option of adding toppings which is a redundant task for user as well as developer. You can shift the topping feature directly in the preview section or make it just preview.

Hello Mochamad, Your onboarding screen looks really amazing. I do have few suggestions for you: - Your customization page is really crowded and confusing. - A roulette feature is not a ideal thing to do. Many users are not familiar with these type of gestures. In order to make it accessible tap options would be great - Checkout button doesn't look like a button. - 'Free coke' being mention on the customization screen is unnecessary. - An option to select the size and the type of crust would have been good. Hello Akanksha great effort on the challenge, I think you lost the sight of main challenge which was for the user to get idea a of how pizza will look when a specific topping is added. Your design looks more like a menu. I would suggest you to work on your UI

- you can indicate the real-time price on the 2nd screen as well so the user can add / remove the toppings according to his budget. - The UI is bounding me to stay on these customisation screens until completion or go back stepwise. I mean there should be a bottom menu bar which can give me freedom to move out of the customisation in single click. - after customisation, even the app forgot that it was a Margherita Pizza.

design is nice but the 2nd slide which is the preview slide, doesn't give an exact look of the pizza. it can be the top view or some view where i can see the customisation reflected.

Hi Priyambi.. First of all nice effort. The way you try to implement is nice. But as in design aspects you have a lot to make better. Let's start with the colour scheme used. The grey and the gradient used can be changed. You may refer to some design inspiration or may follow the design trends or may use some colour pallette for designing better. Another thing to say is the font. Try to use some modern fonts like Poppins or Montserrat, it can make the design even better. As of the illustration used, it is a bit old type of design. You may refer to some modern and sleek illustrations. The buttons you used are ok, but the text inside the buttons are not aligned. Also the buttons itself are not aligned. You may refer to my suggestions and try to improve Looking forward to see your new designs.

This one needs more improvement : - there are 3 primary colours in the picture, yellow, blue & Parrot Green, You can choose 1 primary colour and a secondary colour, incorporating the 3rd one would spoil the design. - always stick to the primary and secondary colours defined for elements as you've used Yellow for Order now Blue for Checkout Parrot green for Pay Now this would create a mess. - colour saturation is more than required, unpleasing for the eyes - the look of pizza after adding toppings is one of the main feature mentioned in the challenge, which is missing.
