Hi Kishan, I really loved how you used just the text and change of color to create and provide the information properly and the font size also feels perfect to me. The bottom nav tabs feel oddly spaced but other than that great work, mate!

Hi Kishan, I think the solution you offer is right on target & quite detailed in terms of the information hierarchy, the design is also quite good, but I think the read more button on the second screen can be changed in color to better attract the user's attention that it is a button that has important information , Besides that there is a slightly ambiguous thing, namely location, if location is not turned on, will the application not run? then the user can't even use it right? Maybe it can be reconsidered because this is a global case and I think there are some that can't turn on location or there is a problem with the location. overall it's been very good, hold on!

Dmitriy - Nice work on these screens. I like how you have tied a current event/crisis tied to resources, and how you show the various levels of risk associated with them. The simple icons paired with the resources are clear and lessen cognitive load. The only comment I have is for under "Resources", I'd consider including a distance in km/mi away from the user to show local relevance. Well done, keep up the good work.

Hi Dmitriy, Your experiments and efforts are quite good at solving problems in this challenge, maybe the input I will give is to make it simpler and cleaner, such as focusing on the flow of the application by region, then grouping what resources are needed and providing information regarding the availability of goods , to make everything narrower and more detailed, don't forget to make a universal scale because the user orders for sure detailed information in each sector & region, it's more than good enough.

Hi Harshit, very nice explanation of your design. I think this could actual function really well as a Chrome plugin - where it takes the readers location into account, and scan articles they are reading to point them in the direction of resources. Thank you for sharing!

While solving the challenge, I put the customer at the forefront of my mind and tried to create a UX journey based on their habitual purchasing patterns and the product they consume (information relevant to them). Consider the following example: Tissue paper scarcity is a hot topic for the US, but not for Indian users. Avocado is a popular breakfast item in the United States, yet it is an uncommon fruit in India. Let me break my example more from generic to specific user base. It is critical to provide what they have right now and what is in danger of scarcity due to crises to make it more relevant to the individual user utilizing the application and what they require for daily consumption. Yes, it is tough to manage the quantity of each product; however, if we order using this application, the stock of each ordered product in inventory and the new one collected will be automatically updated. Hi harsit, the research and solutions you offer on this challenge I think are very good. Placing users from all sides is something that designers rarely do but you put it into practice. In terms of the interface, it's quite good, maybe the title font on the "News Center" page is a little annoying and I think it can be changed to make it easier for users to read.

Hi Harshit, Nice job. I have a few questions and comments. What is the location of items your are presenting to be" Your" stock or in demand. Where in the world are they? Also, what does Your Stock mean? Is that items I have in my home? If so, manually updating my inventory feels cumbersome, and I would question how I would do it. Thanks.

Hi Syihan, Thank you for the feedback. Here is the answers to your queries. 1) The reward system is just to make aware more and more people about global issues. The rewards system doesn't work only in crisis. It works every time a user opens the app. To make more conscious the people. I have added the reward system. Let me give you an example. As there are many cities where electricity issues. So, it's not a global issue but still, it is an issue. So, when a user is going to use this app. They can contribute to saving electricity maybe by submitting electricity bills or by spreading awareness regarding the electricity issue. So, in that way, he is contributing somehow to saving electricity. So that way reward is going to be distributed. 2) Yeah, I agree with your second point. I can work on that part. 3) Yeah, You are correct. That is what I had aslo thought regarding graph. But, I have just shown one part. Thanx for feedback.

Basically, The app name is "SCARE' and inside the app Ui, I have changed the word SCARCE to SCARE everywhere except Splash Screen. It was an intentional step taken. To connect the users to the app. Now, Let's take your second query. The reward system works like when a user uses this app and interacts by reading posts and news and putting effort and contributing to nature like planting or by saving electricity. They had to submit electricity bills for getting rewards, and another way of getting rewards is by sharing articles with the people. To cut a long story short, The Reward system is just for making users and users' friends and family conscious of the global issues so that they can take better steps to fight against the tough situations. Hi Aditya, The results you offer have an attractive interface but there are some inputs for your work 1) I think the use of gifts in the form of "money" is not appropriate because surely everyone when they are in a crisis will use the money for personal needs that can keep their lives stable in that position 2) The information hierarchy displayed lacks detail so users feel confused about what they have to prepare 3) I think the graph can be replaced with information about what materials or resources are still plentiful & depleted so users can focus more & realize that they have to prepare before they run out the interface you made is cool, keep it up!

Hey Aditya. Nice interface. I have a few questions and comments that may be helpful. Is the name of your app " SCARE? or should it be SCARCE? Feels like SCARE is a typo. I am not sure of the reward structure. Am I inputting my own contributions to help the resource... what is the oversight for proof of contributions and rewards? I like the use of layout and colors, but conceptually I am bit confused.

Hi Amish, I really like that you took this in the direction of a desktop/dashboard. The UI is clean and readable without too much cognitive load. I just have a few notes: 1. I wonder if we can show the users name and location at the top so that it is always clear that the information shown is curated for them and their location in specific? 2. I really like the treatment of the "Best alternatives" icon/info section and am wondering if you could maybe do the same treatment for the "top for the scarce resources" cards and show the pairing together: i.e. top resource --> top alternative. 3. I'd maybe show the locations of where the users in the "Public forum" section are commenting from. Then the user will know how close/far they are from them. Great job - keep up the good work.

Hi Joshua, thank you for the feedback. Here are some clarifications for your questions. The 'Top' qualifies by the scarcity level. The top scarcest resource has the highest scarcity level. The horizontal scroll could be nice idea but I approached with fixed top 4 resources with the view all button. I added the 'selected resource' label to avoid any kind of confusion and accessibility issues. You need to empathize with different kinds of users when designing a website for a global audience. I respect your opinion regarding the overwhelming content. But it is an informative website. and I designed carefully to show content in a way such that users can quickly scan and find the desired information. The news and forum are also important content for the home page. But making it overlay can be a good idea. Yes, the label on the navigation could be a good idea. I relied on assumption that users might already know the basic icon interpretation or can be educated by the tooltip displayed while hovering over the icon. Thanks again for the detailed feedback. Hi Amish, the scenario for solving this challenge is quite surprising but I think the solution you offer is right on target, it looks quite informative for users when they are in a condition of needing information about resources, plus there is a forum that allows users to exchange some information that can help one another. each other Keep up your performance & Keep the Spirit!

Hi Amish. Nice Job. I have a few questions and comments. Regarding the ' Top scarce resources', how would you qualify the word 'Top' ? Since there is a " View all" CTA, I would suggest you allow the user to scroll through the resource cards ( showing the edge of the 5th card as signifier there is more to scroll) to see more as well as having a list view. You could have two icons for grid / list view that the user could toggle. I really like your selected resource area though it feels perhaps redundant to label the area as 'selected resource : drinkable water' as its clear the user has selected this directly above.... ( perhaps for screen readers it could make sense for accessibility protocols, however it visually appears redundant.) Next, the news and forum side panel is nice, but if this is the home view of your app, it feels very busy and copy heavy to have this open by default. I have no idea where to focus my eyes as it feels like there is a lot going on and is very overwhelming. Perhaps having this side panel visually appear as an overlay on the main content ( dimming/blurring the main content ) and giving the side panel more focus as is doesn't feel directly relevant to main content. Finally, the navigation is confusing. Since this is a webapp, best practice is to have text labels under or next to the navigation icons as you have plenty of room to do so. Only when going responsive would I suggest going to icon only.

The fantastic concept; I like the way you've presented by stating how to prepare yourself and also the best alternatives available. But I feel if you could have also added the countries in which the resource is scarce could have been a good way, and in the public forum worldwide, comments could be added so that if some specific resources are getting scarce, we could take care too. Rest I really like the way you presented ;)

Hi Shri, I would recommend you to use point of view in elements like CTA, infocard, etc. Although this is not a must, but the corners make the design more friendly and bring lower cognitive load And the padding of the cards can be improved and you can try to position 1 card in a line because the text can be quite large and displaying long text can be bad. that's good enough, Cool!

Hi Shri! I loved your approach for solving this problem. I liked that users can read through the problem first and then go to the solution screen. I would recommend you to use rounded corners in the elements such as CTAs, info cards etc. Although it is not a necessity, but rounded corners make the design more welcoming and brings lesser cognitive load. Apparantly, the Fovea of the eye is better at processing rounded corners than sharp corners. I would also consider improve the card layout in the 3rd screen. The padding of the cards can be improved and you can try to position 1 card in a single row as the text can become big enough and displaying long texts in small cards can become awful. Everything else is on point. Good luck

Hi Yefi, I love your approach to this problem! On the home screen, I like how the "what" and "why" are positioned before "what should you do?". I think users will appreciate gathering information before deciding a course of action. The screen showing the actions that can be taken to save water is clean and easy to follow. The checklist keeps everything organized -- the user can glance at the screen and quickly see what other steps to take. It's nice that the details for the actions are hidden until the user selects "view" (this keeps the screen looking tidy). While I love the community aspect, I wonder if users may also want an easy way to broadcast to social media sites. Users may have more followers on sites like Twitter or LinkedIn, so they could inspire more people to take action.

Hi Yefi, the solution you offer to this challenge is quite good and on target. maybe I'll just give a little input on the use of color in the interface design that you make, such as some posts like "see more" I think it's better to make it blue or something else so that it distinguishes it from other colors to make users shift their view of hidden information, besides The buttons below should be distinguished so that users know what page/menu they are on. good enough, keep up the good work!

Awesome work with some nice colors but I feel that the font size are little too small to read. I am just curious that what will be present on the home page when there is no such crisis going on? Also, the bottom tab icons look the same or have a similar shape, and it feels hard to differentiate them from other icons when we suddenly look. But awesome work mate!

Hi There, The design and solution that you provide for this challenge is quite interesting and good, I am amazed to see your work, there is only one thing that might be your input, namely the interface display in the icon section of the navigation below, I think it is not clearly visible and almost all of the icons are the same, maybe they can be replaced with icons that are easier to distinguish from one another to be more consistent. it's good enough, Keep Up Your Performance!

Hey there! This is a really interesting solution through which you have solved the problem. I would like to give a few suggestions first then would like to question you on your work. First of all, the color palette which you have used is really fresh. I liked the overall IA and how you have layed out the content through various screen. What you can improve on is increasing the text size. I had a tough time reading the text in the Blog cards and the categories below it. I am not really sure of the contrast of the yellow on the light greys in the 3rd and the last screen. The texts is barely visible. Also I would not recommend using 5 colors in a single screen. Try to keep it 2 or max 3 (the 3rd color being the rarest). Now coming to the questions. Why is there so many buttons in the notification panel? Isn't the notification card a button in itself? I would recommend expanding on the notification and then asking user if he wants to take action on it or not. Your design shows that you can add items to "somewhere". Where is it actually getting added? How can I access it? I am adding a grocery list under a crisis, why wouldn't I use a basic notes app to do so? I can anyway read the news and get informed and get updated daily around the topic. How is this helping me? In my opinion, you have gone too wide with the solution. Try to keep it moderately wide, or narrow; precise and on point. Which should solve the problem efficiently. Try to question yourself always, what am I putting; why am I putting it; is it really necessary; will it contribute to a better experience. I hope I made some sense to you. Good Luck.

Hi Nisha, the design you made in this challenge is quite interesting, maybe I will provide input on screen 3 on detailed information, namely the "Need for Help" section, try maybe you can add information about how many items are needed so that users know more complete information in preparing it. Furthermore, on screen 4, can the user only tell to tell what item they need? Then where is the update section that provides the needed items? if you only edit what items are needed but there is no information where to get them it is tantamount to lying and in my opinion users will continue to experience a shortage of needed resources. good enough. Hi Jennifer, good to see you back. I really liked your approach to solving last week's design challenge. Loved the idea to show the scarce issues on the map according to category. Here are some suggestions I would like to provide. 1) CTA of the last screen contains four words and an icon. I would suggest keeping CTA short and meaningful like "notify updates". 2) Increase the color contrast of the inactive tab's label on the second screen (regional, local, water). 3) On the third screen where the fuel mart is selected, try to make the selected location more distinct than others for example by giving a light background color. Overall, great efforts and excellent solution. All the best.

Hi! I enjoy the visual appeal of this design. The dark background with light text makes these screens stand out. I like how this design provides context (articles, stats), so the user can see what is happening and why. Including these details will help users make informed decisions. It's also helpful to choose from categories, and the available categories are definitely important resources to track. Based on these screens, it seems that the user is accessing information about global resources. Users may also want the option to track local resources. Additionally, I wasn't sure if the "Plans to Save Water" refers to plans by governments, or if it's what users can do in their own lives. Users may be interested in learning specific actions they can take.

Hey Joshua! You have come up with an awesome solution for this week's challenge. However, here are some few things you can keep in mind and improve on some areas Firstly, I see that you want the user to read the most trending articles so make the CTA button a bit bigger. The sub texts in the explore cards can be a little bigger because with such low line height and small font size, legibility issues arise. You can iterate on the graphs on the 3rd screen, make it a bit more informative and not just summarise the situation. Everything else looks good. Good luck

Hi Amr - welcome to Crowwwn! I like the color palette you have chosen for this dashboard. I just have a couple comments: 1. I would try to use real copy/information instead of the Lorem Ipsum so we know what you are trying to convey. 2. Under the "Scarce Items" section, I would include both the image AND the title/copy of what it is. I am not sure if I am looking at rare jewelry, or plants, etc. 3. I'm not sure what the chart on the bottom right is showing and which resource it is referencing. This might be where the use of real copy would help to explain what you are conveying. Hi Ashish! You have done a great job overall. What I would recommend is that you can increase side margins as well as padding in the cards. Improving on negative space makes consuming content easier and brings lesser cognitive load. The card shape can also be improved. 12-16 rounding is a good number which works in almost every design. Although you have taken care of selected and unselected state of buttons in the nav bar, I would suggest you to make the unselected buttons grey. Everything else looks good. Good Luck

Hey Jeya! I think you have submitted the wrong solution for this week. This was supposed to be submitted last week, but I'll give you feedback based on what you have done here... I see that users can subscribe to multiple platforms in a single click but I think something like that happens rarely. Or correct me if I am wrong, are the users re-subscribing to the existing subscriptions manually? If that is the case, good job. I see 2 graphs on the home screen. Lets divide them into 2 sections Pie chart- It says the overall usage is 75%. Does it mean the user on an average has used 75% of the time the subscribed apps? I think a better insight would be usage division of these apps. So the user can know which is the least used app and can then decide for the future if he needs to re-subscribe to it or not. Bar Graph- The bar graph lacks context, it no where tells me what metric is being showed and I can't make any action based on seeing it. So you can improve on that. Lastly, you can improve contrasts in the texts like I cannot see what % value is there on the Disney card and etc. Overall a great attempt. Good luck.

Hi Manisha! I love the visual design you applied -- the 3D images create a cohesive brand look. I like how the 3D images are positioned so that the lower half is on the pink background and the upper half is on the white. It's very satisfying! For the home screen, I think it's great that the user can select different categories. This might be easier for new users, as they can select a category if they're not sure what to type in the search bar. I like the idea of connecting with an expert because the user can receive personalized advice. However, I think the user might want more details about what it means to connect with an expert. When the user selects this button, what happens? How will the user communicate with the expert (chat, phone, email, other)? Does this cost money?

Hey Saily, thanks for the detailed feedback! I agree that the calendar needs weekdays to be better understood, it is an error in the design. In the first screen, i imagined that resources running out from the global reserve, and n% higher price should be calculated based on a previous month on a global scale, I agree there should be some info text about that also. Hey Sven! Good Job on making a really simple and easy to understand design! What I can see is that this design lacks context in many aspects which might confuse the user. What I would recommend is adding "days" in the calender view which would help user plan better. In the first screen, I do not understand from where things are running out? Is it from the user or is there an assumption that the resource might run out in the following month or next month? Assuming that user is running out of the items; I do not understand how does the app get to know what is running out of stock. Does the user input this manually or the app assumes the consumption rate? Also, it says that 'n%' higher price. Compared to when? A little context would help there too. In the created plans, you can add a bit more details such as images of what has been added or some description so the user has some context before opening the card. Overall you have done a great job.
